Tree Health & Risk Assessments

Tree Health & Risk Assessments can help you prioritize tree safety for large or small projects, and provide further details on particular trees to help you manage risk. We include mitigation recommendations for each tree, and priority timeframes to help with planning and budgeting. 

​Our team has three ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified arborists available to conduct Limited Visual, Basic and Advanced assessments on trees. We provide a detailed report with the Basic Assessment service, which may also include a map and spreadsheet. We can provide advanced diagnostic tests, such as tomograph or Risistograph tests, as needed. We proudly use Rinntech tools. 

Treescape Management Plans

For complexes with large landscapes such as condominiums, homeowners associations, golf courses, or school campuses, tree care management can be a challenge. We develop management plans to help with prioritizing pruning requirements, managing budgets, or soliciting bids from trusted contractors. We also act as a third-party to oversee pruning work to ensure quality work.

Tree Preservation + Protection Plans

Development and implementation of comprehensive site-specific Tree Protection and Preservation Plans for construction projects.

Tree Inventory + Mapping

We use ArcGIS to create user-friendly interactive digital maps to manage landscapes and prioritize work. Tree mapping includes a Level 2 Basic Assessment of each tree, and associated attributes based on your needs. Examples of additional attributes include identifying pruning needs, infrastructure damaged by roots, tree protection zone areas, or mitigation options.

​We provide a web link to view and interact with your digital tree inventory, or the ArcGIS file if you already use the program.

​GIS can be used in our Tree Risk Assessment and Treescape Management plans.

Tree Appraisal

Appraisals of tree and landscapes could be used for conflict resolution, tax purposes, or replacement cost estimations. We follow the current industry guidelines to provide an objective and fair-market estimate for landscape components.

Our experienced arborists may provide expert witness and report writing services to review tree-related cases and provide an objective analysis. Please contact us for further details.

STRUCTURAL TESTING

Tomograph Testing
Tomography uses sound-impulse technology to identify localized defects in trees. Sensors placed around the tree are used to pinpoint weakened zones and overall structural soundness. Our team was trained to use tomography with the instrument developer Frank Rinn of Rinntech.

Resistograph Testing
The Resistograph uses electronically controlled drill resistance measurements to test the soundness of wood. This device is used to detect decay and cavities, and determine wood quality.
